Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure hygiene and food-safety rules are followed throughout food production.

  • Monitor and records temperatures for refrigerators, freezers, cooking, cooling, and transport.

  • Check the cleanliness of staff, equipment, production areas, and delivery vehicles.

  • Ensure proper allergen control and prevention of cross-contamination.

  • Check expiry dates, labels, traceability, and correct food storage.

  • Prepare and files HACCP records and documents.

  • Monitor staff compliance with hygiene procedures and reports violations to management or the Executive Chef.

  • Receive ingredients and checks quantities, quality, temperatures, expiry dates, and package condition.

  • Record deliveries and organise dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers.

  • Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out).

  • Assist with purchasing orders.

  • Maintain food at the correct storage conditions and temperatures.

  • Issue ingredients to the kitchen according to production needs.

  • Conduct stock counts, tracks shortages, and reports ordering needs.

  • Control losses, expired goods, and waste.

  • Keep storage areas clean, safe, organised, and properly labelled.

  • Propose improvements to storage, labelling, FIFO/FEFO rotation, traceability, ordering, waste control and food-safety procedures.

Job requirements

You will thrive if you have…

  • 2+ years of experience in food safety, receiving, quality control, or storekeeping in a commercial kitchen, hotel, catering company, or food production facility.

  • Hands-on experience maintaining HACCP documentation, temperature logs, and traceability records.

  • Experience dealing with food suppliers, delivery inspections, and inventory audits.

  • Proficiency in FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) rotation methods.

  •  Knowledge of safe temperature zones for receiving, cooking, cooling, holding, and transporting food.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry heavy boxes/crates (up to 15–20 kg) during receiving.

  • Comfortable working in cold-storage environments (walk-in refrigerators and freezers) for stock checks and organization.

  • Meticulous approach to reviewing labels, expiry dates, temperature readouts, and package conditions.

  • Ability to enforce hygiene standards, reject sub-standard supplier deliveries, and report compliance violations directly to management or the Executive Chef.

  • Good working knowledge of English
